Joe Moholland Moving

I will begin by saying that Joe Moholland Moving (a Mayflower flagged moving company) is meeting the MINIMUM obligation as outlined in the Joint Travel Regulation-- but that is it. Overall, the customer service is horrid and their staff places the company's financial gains over their commitment to providing quality service. Knowing that Owen Moholland is a military veteran I am appalled that his company places such little stock in moving military families.  At the request of JMM's customer service they moved our loading dates up and provided our family with a delivery date, exact times to be worked out with the driver. After they finished loading our home (again, at a time that was more convenient for their company) they informed us they would no longer be able to delivery our household goods when they agreed. Initially we were provided with no reason, other than the dispatcher wouldn't release our shipment; after complaining about the company breaking the verbal agreement to deliver, it was revealed that JMM was delaying our shipment by three days so they could pick up another home in the area.Now I completely appreciate the financial aspects of running a business but JMM placed their financial gain over the commitment they made to us. When pressed for an explanation John Grimsley, manager of JMM, stated JMM was within their rights to move the dates as long as they meet the required delivery date and they had no obligation to meet the verbal agreement they made with the family being moved.The delivery dates moving is just the tip of the iceberg. The company sent out a truck that was WAY TOO SMALL for our home and is "piecemealing" it on two separate trucks. The second of the trucks was then taken to company's warehouse and crated with no clear projected delivery date. Grimsley again stated they have until the RDD to deliver the items. As we all know, the more you move things the more they are damaged; it remains to be seen if everything even made it into the crates and their condition when it finally arrives. It is pretty obvious to most that a household of five would not fit into a truck the size of a Uhaul truck.Since military moves are paid for by the military we, the service members, have little recourse other than to make sure others know this company places little value in the military families being moved. We aren't paying their bill so they will use every possible exception in the JTR to make the move easiest and most profitable for their company.Any family in the great DC or Tidewater regions who are assigned JMM should call their travel office and request another company.

We recently moved from Burke, Va. to San Jose, Ca in April,2012. We cannot tell you how pleased with LISA BAILLEY in the office of Joe Moholland Moving company in Woodbridge, Va. She was absolutely fabulous. She was very nice and straight forward.Even though we did not bring any furnitures, the bound weight gave us peace of mind when we packed 36 boxes. Lisa made whole moving process easier for us. We will recomment this company to our friends or family any time. We were very pleased from start to end.  .

    Run.  Don’t call.  Don’t ask..Don’t even believe what they tell you, when they tell you or try to get responses when things go wrong.  I wrote a review a week ago after 25 days of waiting for our delivery.  Now, we have received the majority of our items and have been waiting for our master bedroom footboard so we cab actually put our bed together and sleep on it.  I have hounded them and all they say is that they will get back to us with info.  So, after telling them that if I don’t get some information I will take alternative actions, they finally send me info (telling me they had sent it before..yeah..like 5 minutes after I sent it to them0.  So, I get word today that my headboard had been shipped and is in route.  So, when I go to UPS I see it is actually being delivered today.  They shipped it on 7/17/2013, and never notified us of that.  What kind of [EDIT] Customer Service is that.  Worst in the industry if you ask me.  So, I say again, don’t trust them their sales reps or their CS folks.  Lies, more lies and total BS.    .

I am very pleased with my recent move executed by Joe Moholland Moving. I called them on short notice regarding a need to move from VA to Maryland and they were able to deliver. After conducting an in-person consultation for the goods to be moved the date was set and things started to move. This was highly responsive service and I am very grateful to have my stuff moved fast and effectively. When I first called them with my dates/timeframe, I actually expected to be turned down. To my surprise, their team jumped right on the task and made it happen.

This is move #11 of a 22 year military career, and it was by far the best one I've experienced. Joe Moholland moving is the best I have ever seen across nine states and one foreign country. Their four guys professionally packed 17,000 lbs of stuff in a three story house in about seven hours, leaving my family to enjoy our last evenings at home without having people all over. Moreover, they were incredibly polite, responsive, and professional. They labeled all of the boxes so well that it was simple to get them to the right rooms in our new home, and so far everything is in perfect shape. I think this may be the first time ever I do not have items to claim for damage. I am a very happy customer!

It was our first military move and I was so happy with their service. Packing day they were very quick and polite. Moving day they were very efficient but still lacked in communication. They were rude to each other, didn’t communicate when they were about to do a task which lead to them dropping and breaking out king bed headboard. Even after that I was still pretty pleased. Fast forward to unpacking our items. All of my designer purses were gone. All of my non designer purses were in the book but not my expensive designer ones. Called several times to speak to a manager and couldn’t get through. Left messages and never heard back. Don’t use this company.

This was the first move we made using a moving company. I've heard horror stories from family members about their moves but figured we were too old and our friends don't work for pizza and beer anymore so we decided to contact a moving company. I had the pleasure of working with Tyrone as my estimator and he was fantastic! All of our furniture was in a storage unit so I had a list of almost everything I could remember we had. He was so patient, professional and such a pleasure to work with. This was a short notice move and we only had about a week and a half to make it happen. The movers showed up in the time frame given and worked efficiently, professionally and were respectful of our merchandise. They were so delightful to work with. On the other end of our move they showed up within the time frame given and our driver Julio and his team did an excellent job of unloading our furniture. I would definitely recommend this company of you're making a move.

Noel and his team were courteous, professional, careful, and efficient. They arrived on time and got straight to work wrapping and padding all of our furniture and possessions, and they loaded everything flawlessly onto the moving van. We had requested an intermediate stop at our daughter's house to unload some items and pick up other items before continuing on to our new home. Again, the team performed this part of the job perfectly. Moving everything into our new apartment involved navigating a very long hallway, but these professionals brought everything into our unit, unwrapped all of our things, and made sure that we were completely satisfied with the placement of each item.

We have moved many times over many decades, and this was, without a doubt, the best moving experience we have ever had. We highly recommend Tailored Move.
